The Northwest Technical Institute in Springdale, Ark., will invest $3 million for an ammonia refrigeration technology and maintenance center. According to a local report, it will be one of only five nationally accredited training programs.

Tyson Foods is contributing $1 million to the facility. Also, 17 other business are making contributions ranging from money to technical support to donating industrial refrigeration equipment. Construction is expected to start in January 2019.

Northwest Technical Institute is a state-supported school that offers programs for high school students and adults in industrial maintenance, diesel technology, nursing and information technology.
