A M King announced the completion of Aldi Inc.’s distribution center and division headquarters in Dinwiddie County, Va. The 562,500 ft² facility will serve approximately 70 to 80 Aldi stores across the Richmond-Petersburg, Hampton Roads and eastern North Carolina regions. It is expected to eventually create approximately 200 jobs.

Charlotte, N.C.-based A M King provided design-build services, which included installation of an ammonia refrigeration system, structural precast building, racking for 25,000 pallet positions, a fire-suppression sprinkler system in the perishable space, and a 2,500 kW generator. The generator supplies enough power to operate the entire facility during a power outage.
