A food redistributor will begin construction of a $36 million distribution center in Bear, Del., in late 2018. Dot Foods hopes to have the facility, which will include more than 111,000 ft2 of refrigerated and frozen storage warehouse space, operational in fall of 2019.
Dot Foods will hire 125 people for warehouse, truck driver and administrative roles at the facility within the first year and up to 200 by 2022. The center, which will also include 12,600 ft2 of office space and a 9,700 ft2 garage, joins the company’s two other facilities in the Northeast: Dot Foods Maryland in Williamsport and Dot Foods New York in Liverpool.
