Colmac Coil received two safety certifications for its refrigeration coils: ASME B31.5 and UL207 Listing.
The Colville, Wash.-based supplier of heat transfer solutions for industrial refrigeration manufactures the coils in accordance with the ASME B31.5 – Refrigeration Piping and Heat Transfer Components code. It defines requirements for the materials, design, fabrication, assembly, test and inspection processes. ASME B31.5 applies to refrigerant heat transfer components and secondary coolant piping for temperatures down to -320°F (-195°C).
Requirements for UL207 Listing cover nonelectrical refrigerant-containing components and accessories intended for field installation in accordance with the ASHRAE 15, a safety standard for refrigerated systems. UL207 applies to refrigeration systems or air-conditioning equipment charged with the refrigerants identified for use in the component or accessory. The requirements also apply to components and accessories intended for use by manufacturers in factory-assembled systems or units.
