Almark Foods opened a 115,000 ft2 production facility in Yuma, Ariz. The plant, which produces peeled, hard-boiled eggs, was designed and constructed by Stellar, a fully integrated design-build firm.

The new facility includes: receiving dock and raw product storage, production staging area, egg processing space, peel and pack room, secondary packaging room and finished goods cooler and dock.

Stellar provided the building’s refrigeration, mechanical infrastructure and thermal package, including the insulated metal panels and doors. The firm also designed the preliminary layout and process engineering for the client-selected equipment. Construction began in March 2017, and the plant became operational in late May 2018.

The Yuma facility was built to meet growing demand on the West Coast and better support Almark’s clients. The egg producer also operates facilities in Gainesville, Ga., and Newberry, S.C.
