A large energy supplier in the United States will implement Veolia Water Technologies’ Aquavista digital services to maximize supervision, control and operation of its FGD wastewater treatment plant. The cloud-based platform will be customized and configured specifically for the treatment of wastewater at the power plant.

A few years ago, Veolia supplied its proprietary brine concentrator and CoLD crystallizer to treat flue gas desulfurization wastewater generated by the plant. The goal of the facility is zero liquid discharge – with the recovered wastewater to be reused within the power plant – and closure of coal ash slurry storage ponds.

Veolia will operate and maintain the wastewater treatment plant in the coming years. Aquavista will ensure higher plant efficiency, including reduced chemical use. It will also increase safety by leveraging predictive analytics to mitigate critical points.
