Hands-on sessions, workshops, technical presentations, manufacturer sessions, and 13 hours of exhibition hall time are among the highlights of the conference program planned for the 2019 RETA Conference. The 3.5-day conference, planned for October 8-11 at the Rio All-Suites Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, is reportedly the largest gathering of refrigerating engineers and technicians that offers the length of educational and networking activities and events.

Also during the conference, attendees can take review courses for CARO, CIRO, CRST or CRES before taking the certification exams at the conference. RETA certification exams are accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). This means the courses and tests are continually scrutinized by an organization whose sole mission is to establish, maintain and ensure that the highest industry standards are set and met on a continuous basis.

Among the highlights of the program are:

  • Workshop on management of change.
  • Hands-on sessions on valve rebuilding, control valve isolation and pump out, proper HEV setting, testing of float switches and strainer cleaning.
  • Technical presentations on false alarms in ammonia gas detection, machinery room construction, winterization procedures, and the proper adjustments for hand expansion valves.
