Americold broke ground on a 306,000 ft² cold storage facility in Effingham County, Ga., that will create up to 79 full and part-time jobs, according to a report. The project, which is expected to cost approximately $60 million, will be finished in March 2020.

The facility will offer advanced blast freezing capabilities, space and infrastructure to support temperature-controlled containerized trade through the Port of Savannah.
