A M King started renovating a Greensboro, N.C., facility chosen by Southern Foods to house its meat and fish processing operations. Southern Foods needed a space that combines cold and dry storage for distribution; refrigerated food processing spaces; and a large area for a test kitchen and walk-up market.

When complete, the 88,000 ft2 plant will allow the company to move to a modern space, shore up its Southeast business and open the largest test kitchen it has ever developed. The project is scheduled to be complete by late 2019. The scope of work provided by A M King includes approximately 13,500 ft2 of food processing areas, 11,585 ft2 of freezers and 11,429 ft2 of coolers/dock.
