A project to refurbish a cooling tower for a methanol production facility in Damietta, Egypt, is complete. Babcock & Wilcox Spig (Spig), a subsidiary of Babcock & Wilcox Enterprises, managed the project.
Spig provided materials and services for the upgrade of four of the plant’s cooling tower cells. The company also supplied materials for four additional cooling tower cells for the second phase of the upgrade project.
Elsewhere, Spig performed at cooling tower upgrade project at Total Olefins Antwerp NV (TOA), an Antwerp, Belgium-based production facility. At that facility, Spig provided service engineering to develop a customized solution to improve the performance of the plant’s existing cooling towers. Spig replaced 12 existing cooling tower cells with six new units.
