An unusual cooling system is helping one cook-and-chill soup and sauce manufacturer cut the time it takes to chill one of its core products by one-third.

After receiving a large order for one of its meat marinades from a chain of quick-service Mexican restaurants, Denver-based Ready Foods had to find a solution that would enable it to decrease the length of time it took to cool the marinade from 200°F to 38°F. HRS Heat Exchangers was able to supply a turnkey cooling system, including cleaning-in-place capabilities, with a small footprint.

As a result, Ready Foods is able to cool the marinade in one hour compared to three and can produce 200,000 lb of marinade on a five-day-a-week basis.
