Role of Refrigeration in Worldwide Nutrition Outlined
The International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR) published “The Role of Refrigeration in Worldwide Nutrition.” The international organization produces its informatory notes as part of its corporate objective to promote knowledge of refrigeration and associated technologies and applications on a global scale.
The 6th IIR Informatory Note – an update of previous versions in November 2006 and June 2009 – draws on the latest figures and findings from organizations such as the FAO, the United Nations and the Global Cold Chain Alliance. The document focuses on the essential role that efficient cold chains can play in improving global food security.
