Cimco Refrigeration, a Canadian industrial refrigeration contractor who also serves the recreational refrigeration market, will no longer manufacture recreational ice-rink packages that use high GWP refrigerants, including HFO blends such as R513a.
The company has redesigned its product lineup to include four ice-rink refrigeration packages using refrigerants with low-to-zero global warming potential. The ice-rink packages also include heat-recovery technology to help ice rinks further reduce their carbon footprint.
The company has built many environmentally conscious rinks across North America, including Oak Park Ice Rink in Stockton, Calif., which will be the state’s first CO2 ice rink.
