GF Expands in South America

GF Piping Systems, a GF division, acquired FGS Brasil Indústria e Comércio Ltda. of Cajamar, Brazil. FGS manufactures high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes, fittings and piping systems. According to GF Piping Systems, the acquisition facilitate the company growing its business in Brazil and the South American region.

Founded in 1997, FGS operates a production site in Cajamar and opened a second plant in the greater Recife/Pernambuco area in 2019. In cooperation with a domestic water utility company, both FGS and GF were already part of a large water-loss improvement program by replacing the São Paulo region's piping network.

The deal is expected to close in the first quarter of 2021.
