The Quantech QWC4 water-cooled screw chiller has been added to Johnson Controls’ chiller portfolio. It utilizes R-134a refrigerant, which has no ozone-depletion potential.

The chiller uses variable-speed drive technology to reduce energy costs and carbon emissions compared to traditional chillers, says the manufacturer. The variable-speed drive technology provides the chiller flexibility in handling high lift applications. The chiller can be used with heat-rejection methods such as an open cooling tower, dry cooler, adiabatic cooler, heat recovery or heat pump.
