Seital vertical disk-stack centrifuges provide separation and clarification for dairy, beverage and industrial applications. In the direct-drive centrifuge, the motor shaft also functions as the bowl shaft. This eliminates the need for gears, belts or other intervening mechanisms that might otherwise be needed to transfer the energy from the motor to the separation process. Having such a direct connection minimizes the loss of energy in the transmission, says the manufacturer. Additionally, having fewer moving parts provides a quieter, space-efficient operation with less maintenance. The direct-drive centrifuges are offered with milk-skimming capacities of 1,320 to 2,642 gal/hr (5,000 to 10,000 l/hr) and standardization capacities of 2,113 to 3,698 gal/hr (8,000 to 14,000 l/hr).
