Offered in a distance learning format, IIAR will host the 55th offering of its industrial refrigeration workshop on February 7-17. The short course on industrial refrigeration as practiced in food freezing, refrigeration and in other low temperature applications will be delivered live online via the IIAR interactive virtual learning platform.
Topics to be covered in the remote-learning course include: refrigerant properties; single-, two-stage and cascade refrigeration cycles; load calculations; construction of refrigerated buildings; liquid recirculation systems; reciprocating and screw compressors; performance and selection of evaporator coils; condensers; energy conservation; vessel sizing; liquid pumps; pipe sizing; safety; and the control of both halocarbon and ammonia systems.
Sessions will be conducted live, and participants will be able to ask questions to the presenter in real-time. The course will be delivered online synchronously for two weeks in 5-hour segments with short breaks.
