Chemours Expands Refrigerants Capacity in Texas

Chemours will invest $80 million to expand its Opteon YF (HFO-1234yf) capacity in Ingleside, Texas, to serve those transitioning to lower GWP refrigerants.

When Chemours opened the facility in June 2019, it more than tripled the company’s capacity of Opteon YF, making it one of the world’s largest HFO-1234yf production facilities. This investment, along with ongoing de-bottlenecking projects, will increase that capacity by approximately 40 percent.

Opteon YF refrigerants primarily are used vehicles and retail stores.
