An intelligent process control solution designed to “support breweries in their operational efficiency through digital transformation” has been launched.

Brewers seeking to optimize their processes, reduce water and energy resource usage and meet consumer demand for sustainably crafted drinks are the intended users of the automation product. The Ability BeerMaker is based on the ABB Ability System 800xA distributed control system. The process automation solution includes a control system with batch functionality following the worldwide S88 standard and a digital twin to simulate new recipes.

Crafted and tested with brewing knowledge from ABB’s brewmaster, it can be adapted using multiple parameters. According to ABB, it will help brewers improve process quality, achieve engineering and operator efficiency, enhance safety and boost plant productivity.
